oh well

today is the release of olevel results.. i was sitting at the back of the hall, thinking of the day 2 years ago i was juz like those boys sitting on the floor, waiting impatiently for that piece of paper which would determine my future 2 years. but now, i am not wearing the all-white uniform with the red-and-yellow crest which says "nil sine labore", im now in long-sleeve shirt, pants and leather shoes. i don't need to sit on the floor, but offered a chair. i actually knew the results before these boys. 2 years has changed a lot. the people who i used to greet now say hi to me. the teacher who i used to ask questions now come and ask me. but when the hall was once again filled with "Victorians unite, we show our mind" and "Victoria is something more", i realised that it was not only that time and people around me has changed, i am as well. the moment the old boys crowded around the flag to cheer, i did not feel the excitement that i used to feel, but was thinking Singapore schools really need some new cheers, why is VS copying the Raffles' cheers?

but still, i am not that different from these guys. 2 months from now, i will be the one sitting on the floor in RI(JC) MPH, waiting for my judgement. it has always been a pity to me that i cannot collect results from the school that i actually went to in the past 2 years. my dream as a boy 4 years ago, since i decided to come to singapore, has always been to study in RJC, the one that is established in 1982, not the one that is going to celebrate its 181 birthday this year. the two years in RJ was my greatest experience and will be my most treasured memory in life. it is not the school per se, but the people that i spent 2 years with.

i am going to RJC open house this wednesday to see the campus again and collect some memories left behind. every place on campus is associated with a story or a friend.

the ri raja block records the days don, aaron and i spent studying (mainly talking) until 8-830 pm when don's father arrived.

the windy benches is the place where i usually meet ian ng and other art ppl and answer all their questions about lc and me.

the amphi represents that special day when my classmates finally decide to play captain's ball after pe. probably that was the only time my class is actually on about playing as a class.

the council canteen takes the morning meetings with david lu, yanneng and weejin...

if you walk further down, the student's affair centre was where i visited the most at the end of J2, certifying all my certs that i photocopied at the photocopy room nearby. the 2 ladies inside the photocopy room can get really irritating sometimes, but i still kept a photocopy card in my wallet.

well, the canteen is where i dropped by from time to time at the exclusive GEPPER's table and chat with stho, shida.. it is also a good place to get the best gossips, like when u see shuting and her boy friend feeding each other food.

the best place in rj is probably the library! i think i spent more time there with don and other guys than the time i spent in hostel. now, i wonder whether a library is still a library if it is not circular. it is ok if i cannot find a table esp during prelims or promos, walk in the lib for one round, i always see don's water bottle or lenny's pencil case on an empty table. that is the sign "sit here, it is reserved for us and not the losers!"

walking towards the track, memories of the monday nights flash back! don cannot pass 2.4, aaron wants to chase some runner, so we meet every monday nights and train. guess now, two of them are having their days inside camp, running happily..

of course, there are lt1 for math and chem, lt2 for physics, lt5 for econs and A48 for 08S06T. places where we talk, learn and have fun. guess yiheng's contact lens case is still somewhere around in A48. throwing it around the classroom as basball has become a new tradition for 6T in j2.

but all of these are gone. or are they?

its monday today, time for a run..
